Director Tang Guangfu Invited to Deliver Keynote Address at the International Forum on Large Electric System 2026

On May 27, the inaugural International Forum on Large Electric System (IFLES 2026) was held in Huairou, Beijing.
Tang Guangfu, Director of Huairou Laboratory and member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, was invited to attend the forum and delivered a keynote address titled "Interconnected Network Technology based on HVDC-Flexible for Reshaping Power Grid Architecture."
The forum was initiated by the China National Committee of the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE), and co-hosted by the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering (CSEE), Huairou Laboratory, and China Southern Power Grid Company Limited (CSG). Centered on the theme "Large Power Grids with Digital Intelligence and Power Electronics," the forum focused on the profound impact of digitalization and power electronics on the planning, operation, and development of large-scale power grids. It served as a high-level dialogue platform for academia, industry, and application sectors, facilitating in-depth exchanges on the pivotal role and key technological pathways of large power grids in supporting the green and low-carbon energy transition and achieving the "Dual Carbon" goals.
Guest speeches were delivered by Philippe Adam, Secretary-General of CIGRE; Liang Changxin, Director of Regulation at the National Energy Administration; and Wang Shaowu, Deputy General Manager of China Southern Power Grid. Keynote addresses were also given by Konstantin Papailiou, President of CIGRE; Zhang Wenfeng, General Manager of the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC); Jo Cops, Executive Vice President of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC); Bilel Jamoussi, Deputy Director of the ITU Telecommunication Standardization Bureau; Anjan Bose, Member of the US National Academy of Engineering and Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; and Lan Xiongjing, Deputy District Mayor of Huairou District.
